Privacy policy

This website uses no cookies and no tracking. SnoreFox processes audio on your phone and never sends it to us or anyone else. We only receive personal data if you email us, or limited order details from Google when you buy something.
1. Who we are
Homemade App Co ("we", "us") makes the apps listed on homemadeappcompany.com and runs this website. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Contact us at privacy@homemadeappcompany.com.
This policy covers this website and our apps. If an app store or another service you use alongside our apps has its own privacy policy, that policy covers what they do.
2. This website
- We don't use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- Fonts, videos and images are served from our own site, so visiting doesn't send your data to font or video providers.
- Our hosting provider, Microsoft Azure, processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so the site can be delivered and protected from abuse. This data is kept in short-lived server logs.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
3. When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to keep a record of support requests. Email to our domain is forwarded by Namecheap to a mailbox provided by Google (Gmail).
We keep emails for up to 2 years after our last contact, then delete them, unless we need them longer for a legal reason.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your questions, or to take steps at your request.
4. SnoreFox
What stays on your phone
SnoreFox works entirely on your device. It processes the following, and stores it only in the app's private storage on your phone:
- Microphone audio. While listening, audio is analysed in memory to detect snores. Only short clips around detected sounds are saved. A full-night recording is only saved if you turn that feature on. Everything else is discarded and never written to storage.
- Sleep and snoring results, such as scores, timelines and history.
- Bedtime notes you add, such as factors and remedies.
- Your feedback when you mark a sound as "not a snore", used to tune detection on your phone.
- Settings and purchase status.
We cannot see any of this. The Android app has no internet permission, so it cannot send data anywhere. App backup is turned off, so your SnoreFox data is not copied to cloud backups.
Snoring and sleep information can be health information. Because it never leaves your device, we do not collect or process it.
Things you choose to share
- Health Connect (optional). If you turn on sync, SnoreFox writes sleep sessions to Health Connect on your phone. You control this in Health Connect's permissions, and any app you allow there can read that data under its own privacy policy.
- Exports (optional). If you export a PDF or audio clip, it goes wherever you choose to send it, such as email or a messaging app. We don't receive a copy.
Purchases
Payments for Forever Den are handled by Google Play. We don't receive your card details. Google shares limited order details with us, such as an order number, date, product, price and country. We use these for accounting, tax records and refunds, and keep them for as long as UK tax law requires (currently 6 years).
Legal basis: to perform our contract with you and to meet our legal obligations.

Other people in the room
The microphone may pick up sounds from other people nearby. Recordings stay on your phone. Please let anyone who sleeps in the same room know that you're using SnoreFox.
iPhone
SnoreFox for iPhone is not available yet. We'll update this policy before it is released.
5. Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it for advertising. We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:
- Microsoft (website hosting)
- Namecheap (domain and email forwarding)
- Google (email, and Google Play for app distribution and payments)
We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
6. International transfers
Google and Microsoft may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, they rely on legal safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
7. Children
Our apps and website are not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To use these rights, email privacy@homemadeappcompany.com. We'll reply within one month.
App data stored on your phone is under your control. We can't access it, so delete it on the device (see Delete your data).
If you're in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. In the EU you can complain to your local data protection authority.
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law: we don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it.
9. Security
We keep the data we hold to a minimum and protect our accounts with strong passwords and two-step verification. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app or on our updates page.
